Really??

Jack decided today, of all days he didn't want me to cut his hair. I've been doing it for 5 years. We found a place open (Borick's) and this is the photo he had me take.

North Pole Express

Dec. 11, we were treated to a train ride with Grandma & Frank. They can't call it the "Polar Express", since Disney has the rights. We enjoyed hot cocoa and playing @ the North Pole(aka Saginaw Fair Ground). Jack waiting in line to talk to Santa, but Tyler already saw him on Dec. 3 at the breakfast with Santa.

First Meet

Dec. 10 was Jack's first swim meet. He swam the 50 meter freestyle and backstroke. He now wants me to sign him up for every meet.

Our Shining Light

Tonight, Jack was 1 of 200 kids in the school district that recieved The Peacemaking Award!!! So proud of him and how nice to be nominated. He even did a little fist pump, before they called his name. It was very sweet, when his first grade teacher congratulated him.
I thought he was going to pull his tooth out while waiting, since it is really lose. That would have been very entertaining and memorable.

On April 1, no foolin here, Jack mastered riding a two wheel and then had to instruct his younger brother.

So proud of him!! Guess I don't need to sign him up for lose the training wheels camp this summer.

On three

On March 16, we went to pick Jack up from school. He had bit into an apple at lunch and his tooth was parrallel to his gums. So, I told him to pull it out on the count of three, but he had it out by two. He was so excited and said to Grandma, "now I don't have to go to your tooth shop." It was the first tooth he lost on his own.

Will finally get a visit from the Tooth Fairy

This morning, Jack had four baby teeth pulled. He is 8 and never lost a tooth. Two adult teeth already erupted through on the bottom, so he had two rows of teeth. We joked that he had shark teeth. He did great and next time, I am taking my video camera for when he is coming out of anesthesia. He is so funny.

 He kept saying:
 This is the Life
 Mother
 Father
Am I bleeding?
Where am I?
Can you take the tape of my chin? (the numbing feeling)
I am the roadrunner, Beep Beep

It was very entertaining to say the least. He is back to his "normal" and enjoyed a vanilla frosty from Wendy's.

8 Years Old

Jack celebrated his 8th Birthday on the 17th. Of course, he wanted a "Cars" cake and Wal-mart had discontinued it. So I had them decorate a cake from a old picture and supplied a new Dragon Lightning McQueen. I've tried to do birthday cakes in the past and it is better to leave it to the professionals.

Since he has turned 8, he has encountered "mean" girls at school. His response to them last week was"we are all the Children of God". Oh to be a small animal on the playground to hear it. So proud of him!
I also had to purchase him deodorant. Who knew boys had such a odor!! It is all natural for sensitive skin, so far so good. Now, I just need him to stop using his hair as a napkin.

Baseball Time again

Jack practicing his swing before his game in the back yard.

We all get excited when he gets a hit, just wished he would swing harder more often.
He loves getting on base. I hope I can get a picture of his face at one of the games. It is priceless!
Only 5 games left of the 16 game season. We are thinking this will be his last season, since his true passion is swimming!

Jack gets photo with Santa

He finally did it! Jack had enough courage to sit on Santa's lap for a picture. He told him everything he wanted (Tractor Tipping game was at the top of his list) and is excited to show everyone his picture. Tyler was not interested in talking to Santa or sitting on his lap. He did wave to him and got a candy cane.

Yeah, Jack!

This past Saturday, was so exciting. I don't know who was more excited Jack or myself. They got to go in the diving pool. First, they dove off the edge and then, they got to go on the diving board. Jack was so happy, to finally get a chance to go in the "deep pool". He even tried to sneak in a extra turn. I need to up the lessons, so he can do swim team. I wonder if he likes the water, because I toon prenatal water aerobics?!!

Jack's wisdom

Jack informed me that Maizy needs to go in her crate and think about
it. She was chewy on one of his toys.

Jack's Kid Party

Yesterday, we celebrated Jack's 7th birthday with four of his friends; Andrew, Jordan, Connor, and Taylor. We rented a bounce house and they all had a blast. Ryan and Tyler got in on the action too. I even got in before all the kids got there. The boys found frogs in the mud, but I had them let them go. I don't think any of the parents wanted a pet frog as a party favor. Then we gathered up the boys and headed to the garage for a Optimus Prime Pinata. I'm glad it held together as long as it did. Everyone got plenty of hits in. They all scrambled to get the candy. Then into the house for cake, ice cream and present. I'm thankful Grandma Pat was able to help with the party. The boys finally got to see Grandpa, since he had his cancer treatment. Lots of fun memories.
